She always wrote with her left hand, which might be why she initially wrote her name backwards. After correcting her a few times, she now uses her right hand more and writes her name in the correct order. I was surprised to find that after reading a book to her once or twice, she could remember the protagonist's name and occupation just by looking at the cover.

I find all of this impressive. She seems to share my childhood tendency to worry and avoid things in anticipation of making mistakes, but I want to tell her not to worry and to keep trying.

perhaps because she had kept using her left hand to write, she would write her name backwards. after having me correct her a few times, she now uses her right hand more and writes her name in the correct order. there was a book i had read to her once or twice, and i was surprised to see that she was able to tell me the name and occupation of the main character just by looking at the cover of the book.

i find it remarkable. as i had been when i was young, she tends to avoid things because of her fear of making mistakes, and i want to tell her not to worry, to stop at nothing.
