Beach near Lihue: Lydgate

Places to explore: Waimea Canyon lookout (make sure to go when visibility is high), Kilauea lighthouse (chances are you won’t get the reservation as it usually get sold out a month ahead but you can still see various sea birds by the entrance.
Popular eats: Kenji burger, holy grail donut, sleeping giant grill, chicken in a barrel bbq, familee Korean shave ice, konohiki seafoods.
Grocery: no Korean market. Local markets and Foodland are your best bet.
I was in the island the 2 weeks ago. The currents in most beaches were pretty rough. Anini would be the best water by far if you prefer easy swim and simply relaxing with a book. |
