My Bul-Go-Ki (Grilled Beef) Recipe

Ingredient;
For 1 Pound of Thinly sliced beef
2 Tb of Soy Sauce (for Pan-fry), or 2&1/2 Tb of Soy Sauce (for Grill)
1/2 Tb Red Wine and 1/2Tb Sprite
1&1/2 Tb of Sugar
2 Tb of Chopped Green Onions, (or One bunch of one inch long sliced green onions)
1/2 Tb of Sesame oil
1/2 Tb of Minced Garlic (or ¨ù Tb. Garlic Powder)
1/2 Tb of Sesame Seeds
1/8 Ts of Black pepper
A pinch of MSG (option)
1/2 Ts of Papaya puree or Puree of Pear (option) - tenderizing the meat
Never use the Kiwi fruit – It makes the meat too mush and changing the meat texture.
Tb=tablespoon, Ts=teaspoon

Cooking method;

1.Prepare the sliced beef about 0.3~0.5 cm thickness (and the thinner the better).
2.Mix the all the ingredient.
3.Marinate the sliced beef in the # 2 sauce for at least 30 minutes up to over night.
4.Grill on the fire. Broil, or Pan-fry them.
5.Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.

When charcoal or gas grill the Bul-go-ki, use the aluminum foil and make holes with sticks. So that the sliced beef will not fall through the grill racks and drain some juice.

When you broil them, after about 5 minutes of broiling, turn the meet for another 3 to 5 minutes depending on the thickness of the beef.

my mom taught me this easy bulgogi recipe: 3 cups of water-1 cup of soy sauce-1 cup of sugar add seasame oil, minced garlic, some black pepper. you can also add ground up asian pear but you don't need to. oh i know it's a lot of sauce but you can use a spoon but use the same 3-1-1 portion. i also use this to make kalbi-gim, and to marinate l.a. kalbi
