I understand that you said some of your teachers begin work without their employment visas due to missing a document or similar reasons, but I don't want to be caught in that position, unfortunately. If there is a chance of having to work without pay (due to legal restrictions) and having a hassle to travel from the country to get the visa, and even miss work in the meantime, it sounds like a mess to me. However, if the background check happens to arrive within the week and the visa can be obtained in time, then I am interested in further continuing our employment agreement.

2. Dates: I understand the start-date and the training period, and that could be a problem pending visa-required documents, as we've discussed. But beside that, please note that I will need to go home for at least a week in late August. My older brother will have a wedding on August 24, and I will need to leave from Korea for home at least a few days before and stay for at least a few days after. I would prefer two weeks if possible from the 17th- 31st, but if not, then at least one week of vacation from August 21- 28th.
3. Duration: If I were to start work without a visa, then would the contract start by the day the school-year starts or on the day I have an employment visa and show it to you? Would the ending date be postponed if the starting date is postponed?
