1) a cylindrical can is to be designed and constructed to hold 0.75 liters . it costs 0.75 cents per square centimeter to 

build the top of the can, 0.50 cents per square centimeter to build the bottom of the can, and 0.30 cents per square 

centimeter to construct the side of the can. find the dimensions of the can which minimize the cost of constructing 

the can. ( approximate r=3.86 centimeters,   h=16.02 centimeters)


2) a liquid is being pumped into a cylindrical tank with a radius of 3 feet. when the depth of the liquid is 4 feet'

the depth of the liquid is increasing at a rate of 0.2 feet per second. find the rate at which the volume of the liquid i

is changing at that instant. (5.65 cubic feet per second)
